Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice (DEIJ) Statement
"Belonging is not just being seen, it's being part of something. It's about co-creating a society where we all have the right to contribute and to shape the whole."
- Dr. john a. powell
At Optimal Life HQ, we are deeply committed to fostering a learning environment that reflects the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice (DEIJ). These values are woven into the fabric of our organization and guide the way we teach, coach, and engage with one another.
We recognize that every student, educator, and client brings unique perspectives, experiences, and cultural backgrounds to the learning environment. This diversity enriches our community and strengthens the profession of coaching.
As part of the global coaching community, we align with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) in affirming that coaching must serve the growth and flourishing of individuals and societies alike. We acknowledge that systemic inequities can limit access and opportunity, and we are committed to challenging those barriers through awareness, education, and ongoing reflection.
Our values—integrity, respect, collaboration, and excellence—are grounded in an unwavering commitment to inclusivity and belonging.
We pledge to:
- Keep diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice at the forefront of all decisions we make.
- Celebrate and value the unique talents, insights, and lived experiences each student and faculty member brings.
- Create learning spaces that are equitable, safe, and welcoming for everyone
- Continue learning and improving in our understanding of privilege, power, and bias.
- Through this commitment, we aim to embody the principle that coaching can be a transformative force for positive social change.
It is the policy of Optimal Life HQ that:
- Recruitment, hiring, and engagement of all personnel are conducted without discrimination against any individual on the basis of race, ethnicity, age, religion, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
- All faculty, staff, and students are expected to uphold these principles and to foster an environment of mutual respect and inclusion.
- All individuals are welcome to participate in our programs, regardless of identity, background, or ability.
- Every student, staff member, and community participant has the right to a learning environment free from discrimination and harassment. This includes verbal, physical, or digital misconduct.
- Optimal Life HQ will not tolerate conduct by any employee, student, volunteer, contractor, visitor, or vendor that interferes with another individual’s ability to learn, teach, or participate fully in our programs. Reports of discrimination or harassment will be investigated promptly and fairly.
