What exactly is the Coaching Circle and how does it work?
The Coaching Circle is a professional coaching exchange for ICF-aligned coaches who want to practise their competencies, develop their skills, and gain meaningful coaching hours. Each round runs for eight weeks. Participants engage in weekly 45-minute sessions, taking turns coaching and being coached.
Who is the Coaching Circle designed for?
The Circle is for coaches currently enrolled in an ICF-accredited training programme or already credentialed at ACC, PCC, or MCC level who want to practise skills, refine ICF markers, and learn from diverse coaching styles.
Do I need to be an ICF-trained coach to participate?
Yes. You must either be in ICF training or already hold an ICF credential to take part.
Is this suitable for coaches still in training?
Yes. Many coaches join specifically for structured, competency-aligned practice.
What coaching methodologies do participants use?
All coaches use the ICF Core Competencies and Markers up to MCC level, along with their individual tools and approaches.
How are coaches matched with partners?
Matching is based on your Coach Profile, including training background, time zone, availability, and coaching preferences. The more flexible you are, the easier it is to find a suitable match.
What criteria are used to match me with a partner?
Time zone, availability, coaching preferences, and general suitability based on your profile.
How long does it take to receive my match?
Matches are released on specific dates before each round starts. You will typically receive your match several weeks before the round begins.
Can I request a new partner if the match isn’t a good fit?
Yes. We will ask for a brief explanation to help improve future matching.
How often can I request a new match?
This depends on coach availability. Rounds typically run every two months.
How long does each coaching round last?
Each round lasts eight weeks.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are 45 minutes each.
What is expected of me as a coach?
Follow the ICF Code of Ethics, practise the Core Competencies, show up reliably, and treat your coachee professionally.
What is expected of me as a coachee?
Attend weekly sessions, reschedule with notice, be open and engaged, and support your partner's development.
What happens if I miss a session?
You and your partner may reschedule within the eight-week round.
Are the sessions supervised?
No. Recording is optional and requires explicit permission. A simple agreement between coach and coachee is needed.
Do I need to submit feedback after each round?
Yes. Feedback is required from both coach and coachee to ensure quality.
Can I count these sessions toward my ICF coaching hours?
Yes. The first 50 members count their hours as pro bono. After the subscription begins, hours may be logged as paid.
How do I log my ICF hours?
Use your training provider’s method or the ICF coaching log template.
Why are the first 50 participants free?
We are building our practitioner database and establishing a strong community foundation for high-quality matching.
If I’m one of the first 50 participants, is it free for life?
Yes. Participation remains free for life, and you may stop using the service at any time.
What happens once the Circle becomes subscription-based?
After the first 50 places, members pay a subscription fee and gain access to regular matching cycles, workshops, and professional development tools such as the Wheel of Life.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes.
Will I lose access if I cancel?
You will not be included in future matching rounds, and each match naturally ends after its eight-week cycle.
Where do the sessions take place?
Online, using any secure, encrypted platform agreed between partners.
Do I need to record the sessions?
Recording is optional and requires mutual consent. Some rounds may support those who need recordings for supervision.
What platform should we use for coaching?
Any secure and encrypted platform such as Zoom or Teams.
Is there support if my partner becomes unresponsive?
Yes. Contact our admin team and we will look into it and rematch you if needed.
Can I join from any country?
Yes. The Coaching Circle is global and inclusive.
What if my partner is not acting professionally?
First address concerns directly with your partner. If the issue involves ethics or persistent problems, contact admin.
What ethical guidelines should I follow?
All participants must follow the ICF Code of Ethics.
Is confidentiality guaranteed?
Yes. Data is stored under GDPR and HIPAA compliance. Your contact details are shared only with your match.
How do you verify participants in the Coaching Circle?
ICF credentialed coaches may be asked to provide a link to their credential. Coaches in training are verified via their training provider. All must agree to the ICF Code of Ethics and confidentiality guidelines.
How do I update my profile or preferences?
Email updates to hello@optimallifehq.com. A self-update system will be added later.
How do I request a new match?
Email us for now. An automated match request system will be available in the future.
What do I do if I need help or have a concern?
Try resolving the issue directly with your partner first. If the issue is ethical or ongoing, contact admin for support.
How will I know when new rounds or workshops are announced?
Coaching Circle members receive regular email updates with round dates, workshops, and opportunities.
What happens if my partner and I cannot find a time that works?
If no mutually workable time can be found, contact admin and we will arrange another match.
Can I participate in more than one match at a time?
Yes, if additional partners are available. Just email us to request this.
What happens if my partner repeatedly cancels or no-shows?
If repeated cancellations occur, notify admin and we will review and support rematching.
Can I pause my membership?
Yes. Notify us if you do not want to be matched in the next round.
Can I be matched with someone who speaks my preferred language?
Most current matches are English-speaking, but you may request another language and we will match you when possible.
